Does everyone remember getting there first model train set? Well I do, as I still have mine and it is used in my layout. It may not be the same look as what it was when it was new. You will notice that I have painted the roofs of the carriages and the sorting van, and the Class 47 Rail Freight has had some weathering and the boogies have had some paint applied (But they are not finished) well I thought I would share this fantastic Photo and tell all that this fantastic train now about 20 years old is still going strong!
Finally I have had the time to do some actual moddeling, and I have a made a roof for the “JD Goods and Fuelling Depo.” This is a very simple construction built with wood pillars and roof supports, and cardboard split apart to represent corrugated steel. All painted grey and some wheathering added for effect. I will be adding more weathering as the build go’s on but for now i am happy that i have finally got the canopy fitted.
Here you can see an end-on view of the finished canopy
