Old Hornby and Lima 35ton Tankers, made new and then used

Article created on 18/03/2011 by Greg Durrant

I wanted to have a rake of 35ton tankers, so I attended my local Exhibition in Mansfield (viewed a lot of nice layouts.) But I went round alot of trade stalls and found 3X 35ton tankers in the Texaco red 35ton tankers. well they looked a bit dated and missing the ladders on a few of them. But I decided to make them a bit more uniform. So I stripped them down and filled them with No-More Nails to weigh them down and added some BP Logos.

Then I decided to add some weathering to them with a bit of poster paint (black) to make the impression of being used for diesel. They are still not finished but i still think they look not too bad. And a good first time attempt.
